Superstar entertainer Reba McEntire received an American Music Award Nomination for "Favorite Female Country Artist" on Tuesday, earning her 23rd career AMA nomination. With 15 American Music Award wins, Reba holds the record as the Female Country Artist with the most wins in the 37-show history of the American Music Awards. Reba is also the most nominated Female Country artist in American Music Awards history.
In addition, Reba reigns as the 7th highest AMA winner of all time across all genres, led only by Michael Jackson, Alabama, Whitney Houston, Garth Brooks, Lionel Ritchie and Kenny Rogers.
"Dick Clark and The American Music Awards have always held a special place in my heart and I'm tickled to pieces to receive a nomination for this year's show! I am honored to be in the same category with Taylor and Carrie. I'm having the time of my life with my Valory Music Company and Starstruck Records family, and I feel like we are just getting started," said Reba.In addition to her American Music Awards nomination, "Consider Me Gone," Reba's second single from her #1 album, KEEP ON LOVING YOU, soared into the Top 15 this week on the Billboard Country Singles Chart.
The American Music Awards live broadcast will take place at the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd (8:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on ABC.Voting
For the third year, winners will be determined by online voting at http://www.ama.abc.com/, http://www.amavote.com/ and http://www.mycokerewards.com/, the official voting location. Voting started yesterday upon the announcement of the 2009 nominations.
