Reba is Country's All-Time Leading Lady
When Reba McEntire hitched her wagon to Brooks & Dunn’s "Cowgirls Don’t Cry," she ended up passing every other woman in country music’s history. The song jumped to No. 9 on the Billboard country singles chart, giving her a career total of 56 Top 10 hits.
That put her ahead of Dolly Parton as the No. 1 female on the all-time list, and she was already ahead of such important female singers as Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Barbara Mandrell and Patsy Cline.
"Dolly is one of my idols and good friends," Reba says. "To even be mentioned in the same sentence as her is huge to me. To be able to accomplish a 56th Top 10 hit while singing with my buddies, Brooks & Dunn, makes it all so much sweeter."
Not that she’s done. Reba’s working currently on a new album that’s expected to be released this summer.
